About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their established purchasing team in Liverpool . In this role, you will take ownership of key purchasing categories, focusing on strategic supplier management, negotiation, and driving cost efficiencies. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand demand and ensure the supply of critical components and services, contributing directly to the company's operational success. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and competitive pricing.
- Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements, aiming for optimal terms and conditions.
- Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify risks and opportunities.
- Oversee the procurement process for assigned categories, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Collaborate with planning and engineering teams to forecast demand and plan procurement activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a buyer or purchasing role , with a focus on strategic categories.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex deals and manage high-value supplier contracts.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market dynamics and supplier performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices and ERP systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is preferred.
