About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned Senior Buyer to lead key procurement initiatives for their operations in Southampton . This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong track record in sourcing, negotiation, and category management. You will be responsible for managing significant supplier relationships, driving cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring the reliable supply of goods and services critical to the business's success. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance and value.
• Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
• Lead complex negotiations for high-value contracts and framework agreements.
• Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process for designated product categories.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the purchasing team.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, with a strong understanding of procurement best practices.
• Demonstrated success in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Residing in or able to commute to Southampton .
