About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to enhance their purchasing operations in Coventry . This critical role involves leading strategic sourcing initiatives, managing key supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across a diverse range of categories. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of procurement best practices and a proven track record of successful negotiation. You will play a key part in optimising the supply chain and ensuring the company has access to high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, based in our Coventry office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategies for major procurement categories, including market analysis and supplier selection.
• Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contracts with key suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, monitoring their performance and compliance.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to payment.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the purchasing team.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure alignment on procurement objectives.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a buyer or senior purchasing role, ideally within the UK market.
• Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing and complex contract negotiation.
• Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent understanding of supply chain management principles.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities, based in Coventry .
