Senior Care Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support within their established facility in Edinburgh . In this vital role, you will assist the Care Manager in leading the care team, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the well-being and comfort of all residents. You will be instrumental in delivering personalised care plans and maintaining the highest standards of service delivery in a compassionate and professional environment. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision and mentoring of care staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of individualised care plans for residents.
• Administer medications safely and accurately according to prescribed schedules and care plans.
• Observe and monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff or Care Manager.
• Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities, promoting their independence and dignity.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and resident status.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Care Assistant, with demonstrable experience in a senior or key worker role.
• A strong understanding of care principles, health and safety regulations, and medication management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
• A compassionate and caring nature with a commitment to providing person-centred care.
