Job Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Care and Support Assistant to work with our client based in the Lowestoft area on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 36 hours per week, including alternative weekend cover. Shift patterns will vary from week to week, with shifts of either 7am–4pm or 4pm–10pm.
The Role:
* Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to clients with very complex needs.
* Support clients to maximise their independence and maintain integration within the wider community.
* Assist clients with personal hygiene, dietary needs and medication.
* Support clients to access social and leisure activities and liaise with external agencies where required.
* Provide advocacy and support to clients and their families when appropriate.
* Promote safeguarding principles and ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients.
* Undertake risk assessments and promote safe working practices.
* Support team performance, coordinate shift cover and assist with staff training and development.
* Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and address any shortfalls in service delivery.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of specialist services based on best practice.
Requirements:
* Recent experience in a similar senior care or support role.
* Experience of working with clients with complex needs.
* Experience of supporting staff and/or coordinating shift cover.
* Experience of delivering training is desirable.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
* Medication training
* Manual Handling training
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice.
* Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate relevant information clearly.
