Senior Catering Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Catering Supervisor to oversee daily catering operations and lead a team of catering assistants at their busy venue in Oxford . This hands-on role requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills and a strong understanding of service delivery in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure the highest standards of food quality, service, and client satisfaction are consistently met, playing a key role in the success of events and daily food provision.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of catering staff, providing guidance, support, and training.
• Oversee food preparation, service delivery, and presentation, ensuring adherence to quality and brand standards.
• Manage event setups and breakdowns, ensuring all logistical requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain strict standards of hygiene, health, and safety within the catering areas, conducting regular checks.
• Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and placement of orders for supplies and ingredients.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during events, addressing any immediate needs or concerns professionally.
• Ensure efficient communication between kitchen staff, service teams, and event organisers in Oxford .

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the catering or hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and event service standards.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team, work under pressure, and solve problems effectively.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required, within the Oxfordshire area.
