Senior Character Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Character Artist to join their creative team in Bristol . This role is central to developing compelling and visually distinctive characters that form the heart of our projects. You will be responsible for creating high-fidelity character models, textures, and potentially rigging, ensuring they meet both artistic and technical specifications. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional sculpting and modeling skills, a keen eye for detail in anatomy and form, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to bring virtual characters to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D character models, including sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, and texturing.
• Collaborate with art directors and concept artists to interpret and translate character designs into 3D assets.
• Ensure character models are optimized for performance while maintaining aesthetic integrity across various platforms.
• Potentially create character rigs and integrate them into the animation pipeline.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in character art and modeling techniques.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Character Artist , with a strong portfolio showcasing detailed human and non-human characters.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, proportions, and silhouette.
• Experience with PBR texturing workflows and shader creation.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
