About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Character Artist to join their esteemed team in Derby . You will be responsible for sculpting, modeling, texturing, and refining characters from concept to final implementation, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Key Responsibilities

• Sculpt, model, and texture high-polygon and low-polygon characters for real-time applications.
• Create detailed UV layouts and PBR textures that align with artistic direction and technical requirements.
• Implement characters into game engines, ensuring proper integration and optimization.
• Collaborate closely with concept artists, animators, and technical artists to achieve desired character designs and behaviors.
• Ensure anatomical accuracy, stylistic consistency, and overall visual appeal of all character assets.
• Stay updated on the latest character art techniques, software, and industry trends.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Character Artist in the games or animation industry.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, ZBrush, 3ds Max) and texturing tools (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop).
• Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, as well as character design principles.
• Experience with real-time character pipelines and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Excellent eye for detail, form, and colour.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in the Derby studio.
