Senior Character Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Character Artist to join their fully remote development team. You will be responsible for creating high-quality, believable characters that inhabit the worlds of their exciting entertainment projects. This role requires a mastery of character modeling, texturing, and a strong artistic eye for anatomy and form. You will collaborate closely with concept artists, animators, and art directors to bring characters to life, contributing to a studio culture that prioritizes remote collaboration and artistic excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Model, sculpt, and texture high-fidelity game-ready characters, including humans, creatures, and props.
• Create efficient and clean UV layouts and PBR textures that meet artistic and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with concept artists to interpret and translate 2D designs into 3D models.
• Work closely with animators and riggers to ensure characters are well-constructed for animation.
• Optimize character assets for performance on target platforms.
• Stay current with industry trends and new technologies in character art creation.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience as a Character Artist in the games or film industry.
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional 3D character modeling, sculpting, and texturing skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
• Solid understanding of human and creature anatomy, form, and proportion.
• Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adept at working within a remote team environment.
