About the Role

Our client, a key player in the arts and entertainment industry , is looking for a talented Senior Character Artist to contribute to their creative projects in Nottingham . This role is essential for bringing memorable characters to life through exceptional modeling, texturing, and artistic detail. You will work within a collaborative team environment, applying your expertise to create high-fidelity character assets that align with the project's artistic vision and technical requirements. The ideal candidate has a passion for character creation, a meticulous eye for detail, and a strong understanding of anatomy and form.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D character models from concept art, ensuring accuracy in anatomy, proportion, and detail.
• Develop realistic or stylized textures, materials, and shaders for characters.
• Optimize character assets for performance in real-time engines or animation pipelines.
• Collaborate with art directors, riggers, and animators to ensure character models are functional and aesthetically pleasing.
• Maintain consistent quality and adhere to established art styles and technical guidelines.
• Stay updated with the latest character art techniques and software advancements.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Character Artist in the games, animation, or VFX industry.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating mastery in character modeling, texturing, and understanding of form and anatomy.
• Expertise in industry-standard 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, ZBrush, Blender) and texturing tools (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop).
• Understanding of character rigging and animation principles is beneficial.
• Experience with PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows.
• Excellent artistic eye and attention to detail, with strong communication skills.
