About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and solutions-oriented Senior Chemical Engineer to provide crucial production support at their facility in Liverpool . This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our chemical manufacturing operations. You will be involved in troubleshooting complex process issues, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring that production targets are met with the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate technical support and troubleshooting for chemical production processes facing operational challenges.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement and manage process optimization projects aimed at increasing yield, reducing waste, and improving energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations during production activities.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to resolve issues and enhance plant performance.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation to reflect best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 6 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process support, or a similar production-focused role.
- Strong understanding of unit operations, process control, and thermodynamics in a chemical plant setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex process problems and implement effective solutions.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
