Senior Chemical Plant Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Chemical Plant Engineer to join their operational team based in Portsmouth . This role is crucial for maintaining and improving the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our chemical manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for overseeing plant maintenance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and implementing strategic upgrades to enhance performance. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute plant maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures and process upsets within the chemical plant.
• Implement engineering projects for plant upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and maintain P&IDs, equipment specifications, and maintenance records.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to plant engineering and maintenance staff.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering .
• Extensive experience in a chemical plant engineering or maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of process equipment , rotating machinery, and control systems.
• Proven experience in project management and execution.
• Excellent understanding of safety procedures and regulatory compliance in a chemical environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
