Senior Chemical Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chemical Process Design Engineer to lead critical design projects from their base in Plymouth, Devon . This role demands a deep understanding of chemical process design principles and the ability to translate conceptual ideas into detailed, constructible engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the process design phase for new chemical plants and modifications to existing facilities.
• Develop process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Perform complex engineering calculations and analyses related to mass and energy balances, hydraulics, and reaction kinetics.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior design engineers.
• Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Over 10 years of experience in chemical process design engineering.
• Expertise in using process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim).
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
• Proven experience in leading design teams and managing design packages.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
