About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Chemical Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team, operating remotely to support projects across the UK, including their Leeds, West Yorkshire base. This role focuses on the research, development, and optimization of novel chemical processes. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes, from laboratory scale through to pilot and commercial scale-up.
- Design and execute experimental programs to validate process parameters, assess feasibility, and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct techno-economic evaluations and feasibility studies for new process concepts.
- Utilize process modelling and simulation tools to predict process performance and identify optimal operating conditions.
- Collaborate closely with research scientists, engineers, and project managers in a virtual environment to advance development projects.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, research reports, and patent disclosures.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in process development, R&D, or scale-up within the chemical industry.
- Proven expertise in designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and drawing sound conclusions.
- Strong understanding of reaction engineering, separations, and process intensification.
- Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at remote collaboration.
