Senior Chemical Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Chemical Process Development Engineer to lead critical R&D and scale-up efforts. This is a fully remote position, offering you the flexibility to innovate from anywhere. You will be at the forefront of developing and refining novel chemical processes from laboratory scale through to commercial viability. This role requires extensive experience in process design, optimization, pilot plant operations, and a strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering and kinetics. You will collaborate closely with a global, remote team to bring groundbreaking chemical solutions to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes from bench to pilot scale.
• Design and execute experimental plans, troubleshoot process issues, and analyze results to ensure project success.
• Develop detailed process descriptions, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances for new and existing processes.
• Provide technical expertise on chemical kinetics , thermodynamics, and reactor design.
• Manage pilot plant operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams in a remote setting to ensure seamless technology transfer.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process development and scale-up within the chemical industry.
• Expertise in reaction engineering , process modeling, and scale-up principles.
• Proven experience with pilot plant design, operation, and data analysis.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead projects in a remote environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
