About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their forward-thinking organization, operating in a fully remote capacity, with a focus on projects originating near Southampton . This senior role demands a proactive approach to designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex chemical processes. You will play a key role in driving innovation, ensuring operational excellence, and contributing to the development of sustainable chemical solutions from your remote workspace. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, possess deep technical knowledge, and excel at virtual collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and scale-up of advanced chemical processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct rigorous process analyses, simulations, and optimization studies to enhance product quality and reduce operational costs.
- Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers in a remote setting.
- Collaborate effectively with R&D, operations, and project management to ensure successful project execution and integration.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations for management and clients.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Over 8 years of progressive experience in chemical process design, development, and project engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat/mass transfer.
- Proven experience in leading process safety initiatives and HAZOP studies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of successful remote work.
