About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic and expanding team, working remotely from Aberdeen, Scotland, UK . Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, and optimize chemical processes using advanced modeling software and statistical analysis techniques.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing facilities.
- Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies, to identify and mitigate risks.
- Oversee process scale-up activities, ensuring smooth transitions from laboratory to pilot and commercial production.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
- Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and project management, to achieve project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process design and development.
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive process hazard analyses and implement safety recommendations.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis tools .
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, reaction kinetics, and mass transfer principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of success in a remote work environment .
