Senior Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their innovative team based in Leicester . This role is pivotal in developing and optimizing chemical processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability across various projects. You will be instrumental in the design, scaling, and troubleshooting of complex chemical manufacturing operations, contributing directly to the company's growth and technological advancement. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of new chemical processes and the optimization of existing ones.
• Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP) to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Oversee pilot plant trials and full-scale production, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless process implementation.
• Develop detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and operating procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process design, scale-up, and optimization within the chemical industry.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering , thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
