Senior Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a world-leading biotechnology company with a strong chemical engineering foundation, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their expanding team in Oxford . This role is critical for the development, optimization, and scale-up of complex bioprocesses. You will be instrumental in translating cutting-edge research into robust, commercial-scale manufacturing processes, working at the intersection of biology and chemical engineering. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of large-scale biochemical processes .
• Scale-up processes from bench to pilot and commercial manufacturing, ensuring reproducibility and efficiency.
• Perform detailed process modeling and simulation for bioreactors, downstream processing, and purification steps.
• Develop and implement validation strategies for new and modified processes.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Troubleshoot complex process issues and implement effective solutions to maintain product quality and yield.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, with a focus on bioprocessing.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in process development, scale-up, and optimization within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
• Proven expertise in fermentation , cell culture, downstream processing, and purification technologies.
• Strong understanding of GMP regulations and validation principles.
• Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
