Senior Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their team in Wolverhampton . This role is vital for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and optimization of chemical production processes. You will lead process improvement initiatives, provide technical expertise, and mentor junior engineers. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively within a production environment, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of process improvements in chemical manufacturing.
• Conduct detailed process analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause identification for operational issues.
• Manage process optimization projects from scope definition to successful implementation.
• Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Develop P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operating procedures.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of chemical unit operations and process control.
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis software.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
