Senior Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to lead critical projects within their facilities in Derby, Derbyshire . This senior role requires extensive expertise in process design, optimization, and project execution within the chemical industry. You will be responsible for guiding complex projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they meet all technical, safety, and economic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record of successfully delivering challenging engineering solutions in a dynamic industrial environment near Derby .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex chemical processes and plant modifications.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget for process engineering initiatives.
• Perform advanced process simulations and analyses to optimize plant performance.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of process engineers.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale process engineering projects.
• Expertise in process simulation software and advanced engineering design tools.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and HAZOP studies.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
