Senior Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their innovative team based in Aberdeen, Scotland . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of new chemical processes, from conceptualization to detailed engineering.
• Optimize existing processes to improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance energy efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and HAZOP analyses for process modifications.
• Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including operations, safety, and project management, to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process design and development.
• Proven experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction kinetics.
• Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in the chemical industry.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.
