Senior Chemical Process Safety Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Chemical Process Safety Specialist to join their forward-thinking team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to shape and implement advanced process safety strategies across the organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational integrity and compliance, focusing on risk reduction and the promotion of a best-in-class safety culture. The role requires a proactive individual with deep expertise in chemical safety principles and a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive safety improvements from a remote perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for complex chemical processes.
• Develop and refine site-specific safety procedures and emergency response plans.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Investigate process safety incidents, performing thorough root cause analyses and recommending sustainable corrective actions.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance on all matters of chemical process safety.
• Promote and champion a proactive safety culture throughout the organization, leveraging remote communication tools effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience dedicated to chemical process safety .
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• Expertise in various PHA techniques (HAZOP, What-If, FMEA) and risk assessment methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of international safety standards and regulations (e.g., COMAH, OSHA PSM).
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams in a remote working setup.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
