Senior Chemical Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Chemical Production Engineer to lead and optimize production operations at their facility in Wolverhampton . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing of chemical products. You will be responsible for supervising production teams, troubleshooting complex operational issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs. This hands-on position offers the chance to make a significant impact on plant performance and product quality, working within a dedicated and experienced manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities, ensuring targets for volume, quality, and safety are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions.
• Implement and manage continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
• Mentor and develop junior production engineers and operators.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in chemical production or manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record in process optimization and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of chemical plant operations and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
