Senior Chemical Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Chemical Project Engineer to manage and execute significant capital projects within their facilities in Sheffield . This role requires a seasoned professional who can oversee projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors, and interface with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives. This is a hands-on, site-based role offering the chance to make a substantial impact on our operational infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning and handover.
• Develop project scopes, specifications, budgets, and execution plans.
• Oversee the design, procurement, construction, and installation of chemical process equipment and facilities.
• Ensure all projects comply with stringent health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead project teams, manage contractor performance, and coordinate with internal departments.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 8+ years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical or process industries.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex capital projects.
• Strong understanding of process design , P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with project management software and methodologies.
