Senior Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Reading . This role involves taking a leading role in the design and delivery of challenging civil engineering infrastructure projects, encompassing site development, drainage, highways, and utilities. You will be instrumental in translating client requirements into robust technical designs, managing project lifecycles, and ensuring high standards of engineering practice. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the civil design aspects of various development projects, including site layouts, earthworks, road design, and drainage systems.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation using industry-standard software.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and option appraisals to inform design development.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure integrated and compliant designs.
• Manage project resources and timelines, ensuring efficient delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians, fostering their technical growth and project management skills.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification, such as Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in civil design engineering, with a strong portfolio of development projects.
• Proficiency in civil design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and drainage design packages (e.g., WinDSAP).
• Sound knowledge of UK planning policy, building regulations, and highway standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client liaison skills.
