About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Derby . This role is crucial for leading the conceptualization and detailed design phases of diverse civil engineering projects, from initial feasibility studies to the final production of construction-ready documentation. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical excellence, safety, and efficiency of designs, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating effectively with clients and project teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural and infrastructure design process for a variety of civil engineering projects.
- Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications using advanced engineering software.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to inform design decisions.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant UK building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their technical development and professional growth.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other consultants to resolve design queries and ensure seamless project delivery.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent, or working towards it.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering .
- Significant experience in civil engineering design, with a strong portfolio of delivered projects.
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and relevant design analysis tools.
- In-depth knowledge of structural principles, construction materials, and project management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, suited for a hybrid work model.
