About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead critical design initiatives within their Sheffield office. This role requires extensive expertise in developing complex civil infrastructure solutions, from conceptualization through to detailed design and construction support. You will mentor a team of engineers, drive technical excellence, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for major civil infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, and utilities.
• Prepare and review technical designs, calculations, and specifications using advanced engineering software.
• Manage project design stages, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with clients, regulatory authorities, and construction teams to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK design codes and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional qualification.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience in civil engineering design, with a focus on infrastructure.
• Proven experience in leading design teams and managing complex projects.
• Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D , BIM, and relevant hydraulic/drainage design software.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and construction methodologies.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential.
