Senior Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Civil Design Engineer to enhance their technical team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is pivotal in leading the design process for a wide array of civil engineering projects, from initial concept through to detailed construction drawings. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, efficiency, and compliance of all designs, while collaborating closely with project managers and site teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design of civil engineering infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, and earthworks.
• Produce comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports using advanced software.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and technical assessments to inform design decisions.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant UK building regulations, environmental standards, and health & safety legislation.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, external consultants, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior design engineers, fostering their technical development and quality of work.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in civil engineering design.
• Expertise in AutoCAD , Civil 3D, and other relevant civil engineering design software .
• Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations, soil mechanics, and structural principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
