About the Role
Our client, a specialist consultancy with a strong focus on coastal and marine infrastructure, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their team. While the company has an office in Plymouth, Devon , this role is offered on a fully remote basis, allowing you to work from home. You will be involved in the design and project management of challenging projects such as breakwaters, sea defences, harbours, and offshore structures. This is an exceptional opportunity for an expert in the field to contribute to significant projects that protect and enhance coastal environments, all within a flexible remote working framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of coastal and marine engineering structures.
- Conduct hydraulic and hydrodynamic analyses, and undertake numerical modeling.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for marine projects.
- Manage project teams and oversee the delivery of complex maritime engineering schemes.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and environmental legislation.
- Provide expert advice to clients and stakeholders on coastal engineering challenges.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil or Coastal/Marine Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in coastal and marine engineering design and project management.
- Proficiency in specialized marine design software and analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of maritime hydraulics, sediment transport, and structural design in a marine environment.
- Excellent project management and client liaison skills.
