Senior Civil Engineer - Structural Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a strong background in Structural Design to join their established practice in Glasgow . You will be responsible for leading the structural design on a variety of complex projects, including bridges, industrial facilities, and major public buildings. This role requires a technically astute individual with proven leadership capabilities, who can mentor a team and deliver innovative structural solutions that meet stringent safety and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for large-scale civil engineering and building projects.
• Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for structural elements in steel, concrete, and composite materials.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of civil and structural engineers.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other design disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and provide structural engineering support during the construction phase.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and health and safety legislation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in structural engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IStructE, or equivalent.
• Expertise in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and BIM technologies.
• Proven track record in managing structural design elements of major projects.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods and site supervision practices.
