About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer specializing in structural design to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will play a pivotal role in the conceptualization, design, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, collaborating virtually with a talented group of engineers, architects, and project managers. We are looking for an individual who can lead design initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to innovative solutions while maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence and project delivery, all within a supportive and forward-thinking remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process for a variety of civil engineering projects, from concept to completion.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies for new projects, providing technical recommendations.
- Collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders through virtual communication channels.
- Perform quality assurance checks and ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development within the team.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with a strong focus on structural engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural design, with a proven track record on significant projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and relevant design standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
