Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Water Resources to join their team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is integral to developing and managing sustainable water infrastructure solutions, addressing challenges related to water supply, wastewater, and flood management. You will lead design efforts, conduct feasibility studies, and provide expert advice on water-related projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and best practices. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer passionate about water management to make a tangible impact on environmental sustainability and public infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and planning of water resource management projects, including water supply networks, wastewater treatment, and flood defence schemes.
• Conduct hydraulic modelling, capacity analysis, and water quality assessments for various water systems.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, design drawings, and specifications for water infrastructure projects.
• Ensure all designs and project implementations comply with relevant environmental legislation, water industry standards , and health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with environmental consultants, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on water resources engineering principles and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in water resources.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a strong focus on design and project delivery.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC-RAS) and GIS tools.
• In-depth knowledge of water quality standards , environmental impact assessments, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• Professional Chartership (e.g., CEng MICE) is desirable.
