About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure projects from anywhere in the UK. You will play a crucial role in the design, planning, and execution of various civil engineering projects, working collaboratively with a dispersed team of professionals. We are looking for an individual who can take ownership of complex tasks, provide technical leadership, and contribute to innovative solutions in a remote-first environment, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout all project lifecycles and that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including site development, drainage systems, and transportation infrastructure.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and technical assessments to inform project planning and execution.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents using CAD software and other relevant tools.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring project milestones are achieved on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians within the team, fostering a collaborative remote working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building regulations, and environmental legislation.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in civil engineering design and project management.
- Proficiency in industry-standard civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Bentley MicroStation.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, geotechnical principles, and hydraulics .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a virtual team setting.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE) is highly desirable.
