About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their established team in Portsmouth . This role is crucial for the design and supervision of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and public works. You will take a leading role in project planning, detailed design, and site supervision, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead and mentor junior engineers. This position requires on-site presence to effectively manage project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, drainage, and earthworks.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Manage project budgets and schedules, providing regular progress reports to stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering their professional development.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in infrastructure design and project management.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley Systems).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant legislation.
