Senior Cloud Architect - AWS Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Cloud Architect with a specialization in AWS to join their forward-thinking technology team in Oxford . This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on the Amazon Web Services platform. You will be responsible for architecting cloud infrastructure, guiding migration strategies, and ensuring best practices are followed to support the company's strategic goals. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS .
• Develop and oversee cloud migration strategies, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
• Define and enforce cloud governance, security policies, and cost management best practices.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into cloud architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and other technical staff.
• Evaluate and recommend new AWS services and technologies to enhance existing solutions and capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud computing, with at least 4 years focused on AWS architecture .
• In-depth knowledge of core AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda).
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
