Senior Cloud Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in shaping our client's cloud strategy, defining best practices, and guiding engineering teams in adopting cloud-native technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud computing principles, architecture patterns, and a passion for innovation in the cloud space.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect robust, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions on platforms like AWS , Azure, or GCP.
• Develop cloud migration strategies and oversee the execution of cloud adoption plans.
• Establish and enforce cloud governance, security best practices, and cost management strategies.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud environments.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to enhance performance, security, and efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams on cloud architecture and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and design.
• Extensive experience with one or more major cloud providers (AWS , Azure, GCP), including their core services.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
• Proven ability to design for scalability, security, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, suitable for a remote team environment.
