About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical for designing, implementing, and managing our client's cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. You will play a key part in architecting cloud solutions, automating deployments, and optimizing performance to support a wide range of applications and services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure .
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines for efficient software deployment and updates.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization and cost reduction.
• Ensure the security of cloud environments through robust security practices and compliance management.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering team members.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in cloud engineering , with a strong focus on AWS , Azure , or GCP.
• Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes .
• Demonstrated experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python , Bash) for automation.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and database management in cloud environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) are a plus.
