Senior Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in cloud platforms to drive automation, optimize performance, and ensure the reliability of our client's services. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, deeply knowledgeable about cloud architecture and best practices, and passionate about building resilient systems in a remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage robust cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployments and infrastructure changes.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and cost optimization, implementing necessary adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and ensure system reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical direction.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar infrastructure role.
• Deep expertise with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system administration.
• Experience with IaC tools and CI/CD methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
