Senior Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join their expanding IT infrastructure team in Stoke-on-Trent . This critical role focuses on the design, implementation, and management of our client's cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency. You will be responsible for architecting cloud solutions, automating deployments, and providing expert support for cloud-based services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure updates.
• Monitor cloud resource utilization, performance, and security, implementing necessary optimizations and alerts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a related infrastructure role.
• Deep understanding of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services.
• Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and IaC tools.
• Excellent knowledge of networking, security best practices, and system administration concepts.
