Job title: Senior Cloud Network Engineer
Contract: 6 month contract rolling
Rate: £700-£750/day Inside IR35
Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)
We're looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Cloud Network Engineer to join a major technology programme a highly influential tech organisation that design energy-efficient microprocessor architecture.
This is a role for someone who can get deep into the technology; designing, building, automating and troubleshooting complex network environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, HPC and enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities
You'll take ownership across the full engineering lifecycle#, from requirements and technical design through to implementation, testing, troubleshooting and handover.
AWS, Azure & GCP networking - all three are essential High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments Enterprise networking, including BGP, routing, switching, segmentation and security Cisco SD-WAN - design, deployment, integration and troubleshooting Terraform & Ansible - automation and Infrastructure as Code OpenStack networking Hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centres and multiple cloud platforms Complex network troubleshooting across cloud, HPC, SD-WAN and enterprise environments Reviewing existing environments, identifying gaps and driving optimisation, improvement and redesign
Experience
We're looking for genuine engineering depth rather than someone who is purely architecture or advisory focused.
7-8+ years' relevant Network, Cloud or Infrastructure Engineering experience Strong hands-on networking across AWS + Azure + GCP Proven experience designing/deploying networking within HPC environments Strong BGP and enterprise networking knowledge Extensive Cisco SD-WAN experience Hands-on Terraform and Ansible Experience with OpenStack networking - highly desirable Strong hybrid cloud / data centre connectivity experience
To be considered, you should be able to demonstrate the majority of the following in a hands-on engineering capacity:
