Senior Cloud Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Security Architect to join their fully remote team. This critical role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud environments (AWS and Azure) that protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with rigorous security standards. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our cloud security strategy, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to embed security best practices from the ground up. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures on AWS and Azure, adhering to security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud environments.
• Lead the implementation and management of cloud security tools, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and threat detection services.
• Conduct security reviews of cloud deployments, identifying and mitigating potential risks and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
• Provide expert guidance on cloud security best practices and emerging threats to internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degrees or equivalent experience are a plus.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in cloud security architecture, with a strong focus on AWS and Azure .
• Proficiency with cloud security controls, IAM, network security in the cloud, and container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and security automation.
• Relevant cloud security certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in cloud environments (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).
