Senior Cloud Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join their globally distributed, remote-first team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security measures across their cloud environments (primarily AWS and Azure) to protect sensitive data and systems. You will work proactively to identify and mitigate security risks, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. This position is ideal for a security expert passionate about safeguarding cloud infrastructure in a fully remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage security controls and solutions within cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices for cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning to identify and remediate risks.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing timely resolution and post-incident analysis.
• Automate security processes and deployments using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle (DevSecOps).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in information security , with a strong focus on cloud security .
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, best practices, and compliance frameworks relevant to cloud computing.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies for AWS and Azure (e.g., IAM, Security Groups, WAF, Azure Security Center).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for security automation.
• Experience with security monitoring, logging, and incident response platforms.
