About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Senior Commercial Gas Engineer to join their specialist team in Reading . This role is vital for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial gas heating systems and appliances across various client sites. You will be responsible for ensuring all installations and maintenance are performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Gas Safety regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in commercial gas systems, a commitment to quality workmanship, and strong problem-solving capabilities in the Berkshire region.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair a wide range of commercial gas boilers, warm air heaters, and associated plant equipment.
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics and fault-finding on complex commercial gas systems.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to minimize system downtime.
- Ensure all work undertaken complies with current Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Provide expert technical advice to clients and manage service calls effectively.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices in commercial gas work.
Requirements
- Valid and current Commercial Gas Safety qualifications (e.g., COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A).
- Significant experience working as a Gas Engineer specifically on commercial installations and appliances.
- Proven ability to interpret complex technical drawings and system schematics.
- Strong understanding of commercial heating systems, ventilation, and controls.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
- A full UK driving license is essential for travel to client sites throughout Reading and the surrounding areas.
