About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their esteemed legal department in Cambridge . This role is critical for providing expert legal advice on complex commercial agreements, corporate transactions, and regulatory matters impacting the business. You will play a pivotal role in managing legal risks, supporting strategic initiatives, and collaborating with senior leadership to ensure robust legal frameworks are in place. This position offers a compelling blend of challenging legal work and the flexibility of a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, negotiation, and review of high-value commercial contracts and strategic partnership agreements.
- Provide senior-level legal counsel on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management strategies.
- Manage and oversee significant litigation and dispute resolution matters, liaising with external counsel.
- Advise on intellectual property protection, licensing, and commercialization strategies.
- Develop and implement legal policies and training programs to enhance compliance across the organization.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate restructuring activities from a legal perspective.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales with a minimum of 9 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Substantial experience in commercial contract law, corporate law, and ideally, M&A.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal projects and provide strategic legal advice.
- Exceptional negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor junior legal staff.
