About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Community Support Officer to provide leadership and guidance to their support team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality care and support services to individuals in the community, ensuring their needs are met effectively and promoting their independence. You will play a key part in developing support strategies, mentoring junior staff, and liaising with external agencies to enhance service provision. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of community support workers, providing guidance and conducting performance reviews.
- Develop, implement, and monitor personalised care and support plans for clients, ensuring they meet individual needs and preferences.
- Manage a complex caseload, offering specialist support and advice to clients facing challenging circumstances.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities, healthcare providers, and other external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the team.
Requirements
- Significant experience in community support, social care, or a related field, with proven supervisory experience.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Strong assessment, planning, and care coordination skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions in complex situations.
- A relevant professional qualification, such as a Diploma in Health and Social Care (Level 5) or equivalent.
