About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Computational Chemist to join their innovative research team on a permanent remote basis. You will be responsible for employing advanced computational methods to design and optimize novel molecules for drug discovery and materials science applications. This role requires a deep understanding of theoretical chemistry, molecular modeling, and simulation techniques to guide experimental efforts and accelerate the discovery process. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute molecular modeling and simulation studies to predict molecular properties and reactivity.
- Develop and apply quantum mechanical and molecular mechanics methods to investigate chemical systems.
- Collaborate with synthetic chemists to design novel compounds with desired characteristics.
- Analyze and interpret simulation results, providing clear insights and recommendations for experimental validation.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in computational chemistry and implement new methodologies as appropriate.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in computational chemistry research.
- Proficiency with computational chemistry software packages (e.g., Schrodinger, Gaussian, Amber).
- Strong knowledge of quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, and structure-based drug design.
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for workflow automation and data analysis.
