About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join their innovative R&D team in Edinburgh . This hybrid role focuses on developing cutting-edge computer vision algorithms and systems for a variety of applications. You will lead projects from conception through to implementation, contributing significantly to advancements in image recognition, object detection, and visual analysis. The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical foundation in computer vision, combined with practical experience in deploying these technologies in real-world scenarios, working within a supportive team environment that encourages exploration and cutting-edge research.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize computer vision algorithms for tasks such as object detection, segmentation, tracking, and 3D reconstruction.
- Implement and deploy vision models using frameworks like OpenCV, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Process and analyze large image and video datasets, developing robust pipelines for data augmentation and annotation.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate vision systems into embedded platforms and robotic applications.
- Evaluate model performance, identify limitations, and drive improvements through research and experimentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical strategy and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in Computer Vision.
- 5+ years of professional experience in computer vision algorithm development.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, with hands-on experience using computer vision libraries and deep learning frameworks.
- Solid understanding of image processing techniques, machine learning, and deep learning applied to vision.
- Experience with camera calibration, sensor fusion, and real-time vision systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
