Senior Concept Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly imaginative and skilled Senior Concept Artist to join their creative powerhouse in Nottingham . You will be instrumental in defining the visual style and direction for exciting new projects, generating compelling concept art for characters, environments, and props. This role requires a strong artistic foundation, an excellent understanding of design principles, and the ability to translate ideas into visually striking imagery. You will collaborate closely with directors, art leads, and other artists to establish and maintain the aesthetic vision, contributing to a studio renowned for its innovative and captivating visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and key visual moments.
• Develop and iterate on visual styles, mood boards, and style guides for projects.
• Collaborate closely with art directors and other team members to define and refine artistic direction.
• Produce detailed sketches, paintings, and mood pieces that effectively communicate ideas.
• Research industry trends and inspirational material to inform creative output.
• Provide clear visual guidance for 3D modelers, texture artists, and other production teams.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Concept Artist in the games, film, or animation industry.
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional artistic skill, creativity, and design sensibility.
• Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, color theory, and lighting.
• Experience with 3D software (e.g., Blender, ZBrush) as a tool for concept development is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
