About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Conservation Architect to join their esteemed practice in Cambridge . This crucial role involves the sensitive and expert management of historic buildings and heritage assets, ensuring their preservation, restoration, and appropriate adaptation for modern use. You will provide specialist architectural advice, develop conservation strategies, and oversee sensitive interventions, working closely with heritage bodies and clients. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed surveys and condition assessments of historic buildings and heritage sites.
• Develop conservation management plans and detailed specifications for restoration and repair works.
• Prepare design proposals and reports for listed building consent and planning applications related to heritage assets.
• Oversee and manage conservation projects, ensuring works are carried out to the highest standards and in accordance with conservation principles.
• Advise clients and stakeholders on the significance, maintenance, and future use of heritage properties.

Requirements

• Qualified Architect with specialized experience in conservation architecture.
• Proven track record in the design and management of heritage and listed building projects.
• In-depth knowledge of historical building materials, construction techniques, and conservation best practices.
• Experience liaising with heritage organisations such as Historic England or equivalent bodies.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
